Nina Glockner, Scripted Formation (2017)

Missing coordinates, shifting formations... The performance presented on 24 June 2017 articulates excerpts from the ‘Incomplete Reading Group’ conversations together with a series of wooden elements modelled on one of the characteristc architectural elements of Goleb’s Project Space. During the performance, forms, spoken text and the very presence of the audience contribute to unfolding a moment-in-transition in which spatial and temporal coordinates become a tangible collective experience.

Nina Glockner (1982, Bochum, DE) focuses mainly on performances and performative installations, in which she visualizes the relationship between humans, objects, and space, and explores the line between executing control and the state of being controlled. In her performances, she uses basic — often even banal — actions in conjunction with objects of different types (artifacts and objects that she designs) to set up temporary formations in space.

Igor Sevuck, Chalkboard Testimonies (a-b-c walk) (2017)

Chalkboard Testimonies (a-b-c walk) is the working title of a new production that considers sleeping disorder experienced by the artist while working and living in the former school building in which Goleb is located. The experience is turned into a narrative that brings together various authors, the artist’s own review of school time, and stories from the past of Amsterdam related to migration, genocide, and commemoration rituals. The narrative is presented in the form of a “reading walk”, which is accompanied by a montage of images screened in various locations of teh school building. The walk is done in collaboration with artist Abla elBahrawy.

Igor Sevcuk (1972, Banja Luka, BA) graduated in 2000 from the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. In 2002, he was awarded the first prize for film and video of the Prix de Rome. In 2004 -2005, he participated in the residency at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. In 2010, Igor initiated the artist space Goleb and since 2015 he is co-organizing Klupko Room(s), both in Amsterdam. His work mainly focuses on the intertwining of the in mate and the poli cal. The ‘cinema c thinking’ enables him to track and recapture the interplay of shared past, daily coexistence and things to come.

At the occasion of the opening of the exhibition "Tales of Incompleteness", artists Nina Glockner and Igor Sevcuk present their work in the form of a performance and guided tour.
